Beka Macpherson – Director and Administration Coordinator

Beka has recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Event and Tourism Management and has a wealth of experience spanning multiple sectors. Throughout her career, Beka has honed her skills in managing diverse operational responsibilities, supporting organisational growth, and facilitating seamless transitions. In her current role, Beka handles a broad range of responsibilities from email management and HR functions to payroll, administration, rostering and strategic leadership. Beka takes pride in organisational efficiency and fostering a collaborative culture. When not working, Beka enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, travelling, camping, and enjoying the beach.

Melissa Farrell – Director, Eastern Project Officer and Supervisor

Melissa holds a Certificate II in Bush Regeneration from Padstow TAFE and has been actively involved in environmental restoration since 1992. With a background in construction, Melissa has progressed through various roles, including Trained Bush Regenerator, Site Supervisor, Project Officer, and Director. Experience in wetland construction, revegetation, rainforest restoration, and multiple applications of restoration work in Victoria, Far North Coast and Sydney Basin. Since 2022, she has served as a Director/Project Officer, committed to upholding the highest standards of environmental management and restoration. Her extensive experience informs a holistic approach to ecological sustainability, ensuring the protection and rehabilitation of natural landscapes.

Skye Virgin – Director, Western Project Officer and Supervisor

Skye has spent 8 years working in the bush regeneration industry. She volunteers as a Bush Regenerator and wildlife rescuer. Skye has a passion for enhancing and protecting the environment.

Dave Matthews – Supervisor

Dave is currently completing a Master of Conservation Biology and has been working in bush regeneration since 2022, gaining experience across various ecological communities across Sydney. He started working as Assistant Supervisor in 2024 and as of 2025 is taking on Supervisor responsibilities on several sites. He seeks to integrate insights from his ongoing studies to apply ecological research to effective restoration techniques, ensuring the best possible outcomes for site recovery and resilience.

Deb Rothwell – Supervisor

Deb has over 23 years experience in the bush regeneration field including Urban Bushland Management, Bush Regeneration and supervision roles at Strathfield, Sutherland and Hornsby Councils and at the National Green Jobs Corp – Auswide as a Trainer in Cert II Bush Regeneration. Since 2018, Deb has worked at Bush Habitat Restoration in various roles including Bush Regenerator, Supervisor, Administration Officer/Director and PEO. Her educational qualifications include a Cert II and Cert IV Bush Regeneration from Richmond TAFE, Diploma in Conservation & Land Management from Ryde TAFE, First Aid Cert, ChemCERT and OH&S General Induction for construction work. Deb gains great inspiration in seeing the efforts of her regeneration work pay off as bushland recovers and flourishes.

Emily Kirby – Supervisor

Emily holds a Certificate III in Conservation & Land Management. Emily has been involved in the environmental restoration industry since 2021, having progressed through several roles including Trained Bush Regenerator and Supervisor. Working in their current role as Supervisor since 2023, Emily strives to achieve the highest standards of environmental management and restoration.

Jenny Heller – Supervisor

Jenny has been involved with environmental restoration since 2013 working as a volunteer bush regenerator for NPWS and Catchment Authorities. Having previously been a TAFE teacher for 25 years, she has progressed through several roles including Trained Bush Regenerator, Supervisor and Hornsby Council Trainer for 4 sites since 2021 while also working in crew at other sites. Jenny completed a Diploma in Conservation & Land Management in 2019 and the Cert III in Conservation & Land Management in 2014. She holds a current AQF3 Chemical User & First Aid Cert as well as a Working with Children and White Card certification. She also has qualifications in Education, Aboriginal Studies and Fine Art. Jennifer’s aim is for best practice and results in environmental restoration.
